Unleashing Your Inner Rebel: 10 Tips to Owning Your Voice

Get ready for a fresh start to 2025 with the newest episode of the Honest Art Podcast! I truly cannot think of a better way to start the year than with this topic — something I see pop up in my DMs A LOT. 

Many of you have asked: “How can I be more free with my art?” 

Long answer short? It’s not so much one singular action, or a set of actions, as it is letting freedom permeate every aspect of life. You gotta let your freak flag fly! There’s a reason why “rebel” is a common theme in all my work; it’s because when we are free, we start listening to our intuition, find our own unique style, and we become even more liberated!

Tips for Finding Freedom in Your Art

So why does it matter if there’s a sense of freedom in our art? Why not focus solely on the outcome of making FINE art? 

Freedom is the secret ingredient for making fine art fine. That’s why you need to start embracing your inner rebel! I’ll show you how in this episode, including ways to:

• Notice the self-editing (and what to do about it)
• Ignore the judgment of others
• Resist the urge to emulate other people’s art and create freely

Listen, freedom in our art is ultimately our voice, and your voice matters. Without it, your art is just another pretty picture. And I know you have so much more to express than that.
