How to Have Fun And Make Money With Commissions

The holidays are upon us…which makes this the perfect time to talk about how to make money with commissions. Now, I’ve talked about commissions before (especially when it comes to holiday collections, but in this episode, I want to dive deeper into the inner workings of offering a commissioned piece of art.

Because it’s not always a cut-and-dry offer. It’s not always as easy as saying, “Hey, here’s a really great piece of art for $X amount of dollars! You should buy it.” It’s so much more complex than that.

But trust me — you CAN still have fun in the process. You just need a strategy first.

Holiday commissions: Is it too late? 

It’s the beginning of November (as of this writing). Which means, there’s not a lot of time left before the holidays. So, does that mean you should skip out on commissioned work this year? Is it too little too late?

Hell no! We’re just getting started, and there’s still plenty of time to let folks know you’re offering commissions. 

But how do you do that? That’s what I’ll be talking about on the show, along with: 

• Why commissions DON’T need to be completed before the holidays (or any other special date like weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, etc.)
• How to price your work
• The pros and cons of offering commissions
• How to advertise them effectively
