How to Show Up Consistently Without Losing Joy ft. Cindy Wysocki

What if the reason you’re struggling to stay consistent as an artist isn’t laziness?

What if it’s pressure?

Pressure to make “good” art.

Pressure to find your style.

Pressure to grow faster.

Pressure to prove you’re a “real artist.”

In this deeply honest coaching conversation, I sat down with Honest Art® Society member Cindy Wysocki, a mixed media painter and myofascial release therapist, to talk about the messy middle of becoming an artist later in life. 

Cindy shares how years of self-doubt kept her from painting even though she’d wanted to create art since childhood. It wasn’t until surgeries during Covid forced life to slow down that she finally listened to the quiet voice saying: “You always wanted to paint.”

We talk about:

• Why healing and painting have so much in common
• How emotional honesty creates more powerful work
• The danger of trying to force a style
• How consistency builds your artistic voice
• The easiest way to approach social media without losing your soul
• Why joy matters if you want to stay in this for the long haul

One of my favorite moments in this episode is when we talk about the heartbreaking way so many people stop identifying as artists as they grow older.
