Artist’s Money Mindset: What Do You Really Believe Is Possible?

I’ve coached thousands of artists around the world. Some create abstract work. Some are ceramicists. Some paint representational barns and animals. Others love painting landscapes. And throughout my adventures as a mentor and as an artist myself, I’ve noticed that there is one stark similarity between us all — we all have to work on our money mindset!

Whether it’s because of how we grew up, the starving artist trope shoved down our throats as a society, or even just imposter syndrome, money is a tough topic.

And one of the hardest lessons we have to learn as artists is adjusting what we believe is possible for us. 

How to flip your money mindset on its head

If you want your art biz to grow, you must have a mindset of confidence, wealth, and abundance. We can’t simply HOPE things will work out, we have to plan for it. And expect it!

But that’s way easier said than done, right? I mean, how do you really know, deep down, that you’re capable? How do you overcome the subconscious belief that money and art cannot exist in the same space? 

We’re going to unpack that and more today, including:

• How early life influences our relationship with money
• Subconscious beliefs about women and money 
• The cognitive dissonance surrounding art and money (and how to dismantle it)
• Baby steps to break through whatever your mindset may be
