Was Getting My First Art Studio a Good Idea?

You know I’m not big on the whole idea of “needing” to have the fanciest things to be an artist. Things like a degree, connections, or a studio. It is possible to just get your ass up and paint; no degree or fancy tools required. 

But…getting my first studio outside of my home DID have some serious benefits. It changed how I approached not only the business side of things, but also how I approached my work as an artist. 

Maybe you’re wondering if getting a studio is right for you. If so, good news! That’s what this episode is all about. 

Is it time for you to get an art studio?

Having my own studio wasn’t about producing more or getting more work done because it minimized distractions. In a lot of ways, it actually helped me be more creative! But I know that right now may not be the right time for everyone to consider getting a studio space. 

So in this episode, I get honest about art studios. I talk about: 

• My experience working at home versus in a studio
• Why a dedicated space raises the stakes
• How I knew I was truly ready for it — financially, mentally, and creatively!
