We’re going there today, friends. Straight into the topic most artists whisper about over wine … gallery representation. Everyone wants it, few understand it, and even fewer will tell you the ugly side of it. But you know me …. I’m not here to sugarcoat.

For years, I thought getting into a gallery meant I’d made it. I dreamed of the dim lighting, the champagne, the collectors in black, and my art under the perfect spotlight. I got it all. And still learned the hard way that galleries aren’t the golden ticket they’re cracked up to be. 

Between shady contracts, delayed payments, and mysteriously lost paintings, I’ve seen too many artists lose not only money but confidence. And it’s not just me; this is happening everywhere. But it doesn’t have to.
