Australia 2027 Retreat  terms and conditions

LEGAL

By registering for the Honest Art Workshop Australia (February 1-6, 2027), hosted by Jodie King at Hotel Sorrento and The House of Gear on the Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne, you signify your acceptance of and obligation to these Terms, Conditions, and Liability Disclaimer. If you have any objections to the following, please do not register.

DEPOSITS, PAYMENTS, CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

A deposit of $1,695 USD is required upon registering to hold your spot. The remaining balance (either one payment of $4,805 USD or three additional monthly payments of $1,695 USD) will be charged to the credit card on file once the retreat is confirmed and our minimum number of attendees has been met.

If you must cancel your trip for any reason whatsoever (including, but not limited to, health conditions, family emergencies, medical emergencies, or personal reasons), the following cancellation terms will apply:

Trip Cancellation Terms:

Cancel within 30 days of booking: your deposit is fully refundable.
Cancel after 30 days of booking: your deposit is nonrefundable, for any reason.
Your Trip Balance Payment is due once the retreat has been confirmed. Should your trip balance payment not be received after a maximum of 3 attempts, we will consider your space forfeited and your deposit nonrefundable.

Due to the nature of the retreat and the booking made on your behalf, the retreat is non-refundable. Should you be unable to make it for any reason, please contact us and we will handle it on a case by case basis. You are required to notify us in writing to cancel your participation. Exceptions to this policy cannot be made for any reason.

All bookings made within 120 days of the retreat start date require full payment at the time of booking. If a trip balance is not paid by the specified due date, we will consider your reservation cancelled and the cancellation terms above will apply.

Trip balance may be paid by American Express, Mastercard, Visa, or Paypal through our secure online checkout. P

CONFIRMED RETREAT POLICY

Once the retreat is confirmed (meaning our minimum number of attendees has been met):

The retreat will not be cancelled.
The itinerary, schedule, dates, and venue are set and will not change.
It has been cleared as safe by relevant local and national health and travel authorities.

In the event that we need to cancel for circumstances genuinely outside of our control (force majeure, government-imposed travel restrictions, or unforeseen safety concerns), all payments received, including your deposit, will be refunded in full.

Jodie King reserves the right to cancel a retreat prior to confirmation for any reason. In that event, all payments received will be completely refunded.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We STRONGLY recommend that you purchase trip cancellation insurance before your retreat. If you need to cancel for any reason whatsoever, including health conditions, death of a family member, travel difficulties, or personal reasons, the cancellation fees outlined above will apply. Trip cancellation insurance can cover some or all of these costs.

In addition, if you miss a specified group airport transfer due to a delayed, cancelled, or missed flight, or for any other reason, you are responsible for arranging and covering your own transportation to Hotel Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula. Trip interruption insurance can cover some or all of these costs.

Note: Terms and coverage vary by insurance carrier. Please carefully review your policy details before purchasing.

I am responsible for choosing to attend this retreat based on my own health, fitness, and abilities.
I understand that Jodie King and her representatives are not responsible for participants' baggage or personal effects, and that I am responsible for purchasing travel insurance to cover baggage damage or theft.
In the event of delayed, cancelled, or missed flights, or other travel delays, I understand that I am responsible for making alternate arrangements and for paying my own transportation costs to the retreat location.
I understand that all services and accommodations are subject to the laws and regulations of Australia. I understand that Jodie King reserves the right to accept, remove, or decline any participant at any time and for any reason. In such case, a refund equal to the actual cost of unused services is the limit of Jodie King's responsibility.
I agree that Jodie King and her representatives shall not be held liable and do not assume responsibility for any claims, damages, expenses, or financial loss to person or property arising from any injury, accident, death, cancellation, delay, alteration, or inconvenience resulting from any acts of negligence, omission, weather, sickness, strike, quarantine, hostilities, local laws, willful or negligent acts of any other retreat participant, or any other cause whatsoever.
I consent and acknowledge that should I require emergency medical treatment as a result of accident or illness during the Honest Art Workshop Australia, I am financially responsible for any medical or legal costs incurred. I will notify Jodie King's representatives verbally and in writing if I am injured prior to, during, or after the retreat, or if I have medical conditions about which emergency personnel should be informed. I understand that Jodie King's agents are not legally obligated to act on that information or to provide any medical service to me.
I agree that if I have any medical or psychological conditions that may prevent me from fully and safely participating in the retreat, I will notify Jodie King's representatives, who retain the right to request that I not participate in portions of or the entirety of the retreat.
I understand that I am ultimately responsible for my own health and wellbeing, including carrying any necessary medications (such as those for chronic conditions or allergies to foods, insects, etc.). I also understand that I should report to Jodie King's representatives any health-related issues that may affect myself or other participants.
I agree that Jodie King and her representatives reserve the right to take photographic or video records throughout the retreat and may use such records for promotional or commercial purposes.
