Donating Your Art? Here’s What Every Artist Should Know

If you’re an artist, this may or may not have happened to you yet. If it hasn’t…trust me, it’s coming. At some point in your art career, you’ll be asked to donate your work to be auctioned off at a fundraiser.

First, let me say this: yes, it’s an honor to be asked this. I also want you to know it’s completely okay to set boundaries. There’s a time to say yes to donating your art, and there’s a time to (politely) decline. 

But how do you know what to donate, and when? How can you decide which opportunities to accept and how to make the most impact? 

That’s what I’m getting into on the show!

Tips for Donating Your Art

After the first time I donated my art, the word spread fast. Suddenly, I was flooded with similar requests, and as much as I wanted to help every single organization, there was just no way I could say yes to them all.

Sound familiar? Maybe you’re in that same dilemma right now, too. You’re unsure if you have the time or resources to make everyone happy, but you still want to make an impact. What do you do?
